Microsoft today announced the name of their new browser as Microsoft Edge. Microsoft announced that the new browser will be available in upcoming Windows 10 . But just to mention that Microsoft already have added the name of Microsoft Edge in their old browser Internet Explorer. In the DOM Explorer of Internet explorer, where you can see the code of the website, Microsoft has given an option to select “Edge (Default)”. This means that you can have the taste of the new browser within the Windows 8 or 8.1 . In order to activate the DOM Explorer you need to press F12 See the screenshot below
You can also emulate and check the compatibility of your website with the new Microsoft Edge browser directly from Internet Explorer Version 11 as Microsoft also has given the name of Edge in the Emulator of IE 11. Check the drop down of Document mode in the Emulation tab in the screenshot below. You can discover Emulation mode by pressing F12 in Internet Explorer.
All these feature are available in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. For reference check the screenshot below.
Hi,
From MSDN : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj676915%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
“Note Starting with IE11, edge mode is considered the preferred document mode.”
So…you don’t emulate Microsoft Edge…it’s default IE11 standard.
