It’s Safer Internet Day today and not every one of you knows that. But some people and organisations are celebrating this special occasion. Many websites and companies are displaying an “Internet Safety” banner to celebrate Safer Internet Day. But Google Inc. goes further more ahead and offered its users a permanent 2GB FREE google drive storage.
Google today released an official statement and stated that Anyone who’ll take part in Security Checkup within the next week will get a permanent 2GB FREE google drive storage. It takes just a couple of minutes and, unlike other checkups, it won’t leave you feeling guilty about not flossing. Our whole team just went through the process and it’s pretty straightforward. Here’s what it does:
- Ensures your account recovery information is current
If google detect suspicious activity in your account, Google use your recovery info to get in touch and make sure no one but you gains access. - Lets you review recent sign-in activity
Reviewing this lets you validate the sign-ins are coming from you and not someone who shouldn’t be using your credentials. - Confirms the apps and devices that access some account information
This step lets you monitor this list and remove apps and devices that don’t need access to your account any more.
After you’ve gone through the checkup successfully, you’ll see three green check boxes (see below) that confirm you’re eligible for the free storage and, more importantly, that you’ve taken steps to enhance your online safety. Google will be granting the storage automatically to everyone around 28 February 2015 and google will send you an email when your adjustment is complete.
These simple steps giving you not just FREE 2Gb of storage but also great safety of your account. Lot of users are seeing many of apps have access to their accounts which they allowed some years/months ago but now they don’t want them by doing this security test you can revoke access the apps you don’t want them to get access to your information.
What are you waiting for go and check your account security and get free 2G Drive storage and don’t forget to comment down here about this cool Google step.
