To access the Twitter video tool, users tap the camera icon. From there, they can record, reorder or delete segments, then share the final clip. In just a few taps you can now add a video, just like photos to unfolding conversations, share your perspective of a live event, and show your everyday moments instantly, without ever having to leave the app. Viewing and playing videos is just as simple: videos are previewed with a thumbnail and you can play them with just one tap.

Converse with a group, privately
With Direct Messages on Twitter, you can communicate privately with a person or a group of people, instantly. Go beyond your friends and family. Keep in contact with experts, captivators, brands, and people you find interesting.
The group function lets you start conversations with any of your followers and they don’t all need to follow one another in order to chat. You can create a group in just a few taps. When you’re added to a group, you’ll get a notification. Direct Messages support text, photos, links, emoji and Tweets, so you can make your point however you please. Twitter says this will result in you meeting more people and having more conversations there than you might otherwise.
HOW IT WORKS
According to Twitter product director Jinen Kamdar, both tools will roll out to all users over the next several weeks. With growing concerns about management upheaval and slowing user growth, Tuesday’s two announcements are clearly designed to keep both users from leaving its mobile app, and investors convinced that it can roll out the necessary changes to rev up user growth. The company is also working on a range of other product updates, including breaking news alerts, more standalone apps and reducing the friction for onboarding new users — all with the hope of reigniting user growth and boosting engagement.
