The Galaxy S6 has been the subject of much speculation. Having officially been shown off at CES 2015, we learned that the new Galaxy S6 would have a metal unibody, and would neither have expandable storage, nor a removable battery. Naturally fans were devastated, but things weren’t quite as bad as they seemed. We also learned that a Galaxy S6 Edge variant would arrive, complete with a removable plastic backing. Could this become the fan favorite of the two devices?
This is the crux of the matter: the Galaxy S series has been known for its great hardware, and its expansion options. It took us no time at all to learn how important an external SD card slot and a removable battery was to fans of the Galaxy S series. Indeed, some people, even though we still know very little about the device, declared outright that without these features they would not buy a Galaxy S6.
Enter the Galaxy S6 Edge. This device, which we presume is going to adopt the sloping screen of the Galaxy Note Edge before it, is said to come with a removable plastic rear, as on the Note series. Because of this, we think that the Galaxy S6 Edge will maintain the removable battery and expandable storage of the previous S series devices.
I’ve already had my say about whether the Galaxy S6 will revolutionize or ruin the Galaxy S series, and now I’m looking for your opinion. Based on what we know so far, which device would you prefer: the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge?
